Welding plastic?
Just wondering if there was a product out there that could weld cracks in plastic intake manifolds? Something like a putty maybe. I've seen plastic welding guns on ebay but will they work for intakes?
Like Crazy said. It's been attempted before, - no successes yet, - that I know of anyway. I haven't seen it attempted on this site in particular, but it has on others.
The successful fixes were either to go with a 99 aluminum intake, -a 03 used intake (the 03's are made of a different, stronger composite material) or a Dorman replacement. Most go with the Dorman.
Yea, this isn't a job you want to do twice.

I fixed a plastic intake on a guys mustang a few years ago. It lasted about a year but Carcrazygts2 is right. Replacing the intake is the best option.
If you absolutely have to temporarily fix it:
Treating it like a sheet metal crack, find the cracks termination points and drill small holes at the end. This stops micro fissures from expanding.
Also scuff the area & score out the channel of the crack then apply the best epoxy you can find. I used what was on hand but don't remember the brand. It wasn't JB but some expensive bulk epoxy good to 170'c. I've never liked JB weld but it's good enough for random projects. I wouldn't risk being stranded with it though.
I'll say it again, I don't suggest doing this.
