Default Weird rear brake creep

So I just picked up a new to me 2001 f150 crew cab. Did a brake job on it, did not separate any of the brake lines. I noticed when I un-bolted the rear calipers and hung them back out of the way, both rear pistons pushed out a bit so you would have to squeeze them again to get the assembly to fit over the rotor again. I have never seen a piston creep out like that. Am I missing something here? Thanks for any help, Brick

Maybe the Hoses are shot and they actuated the caliper when you moved them around.

I've had that happen before and just squeezed the caliper back in, put it back on and never had any issues.

Thanks guys. I don't know what causes it but if its lightly squeezing your rotor all the time, then its needlessly grinding your pads away I figure. The rubber lines look good. Brick

The brake lines start coming apart from the inside and don't allow the pistons to retract because they are not allowing fluid back up to the master cylinder. Chances are to had the master cylinder cap still on and not all the pressure had left the line yet. Your old rotors should have been very discolored if the calipers were dragging.

Sometimes just moving the caliper and hose around can cause this. It may not be a problem. Jack the truck and rotate wheels by hand. If you don't feel drag-don't worry about it.
