Well, first thing, like Frank suggested, change the fuel filter. 30 psi is a fail whether it starts or not. Reason being, all fuel pumps begin to fail at and below 32psi, they begin freezing up intermittently. Ford has minimum spec pressure at 29psi. However the pumps are usually toast before it ever gets there.

Before going any further, change the filter first, it's critical, - specially since you just put a new pump in it.

Keep in mind you found holes in the filler neck....a lot of crap got into that tank.

You didn't post that, unless I missed it? Anyway, then you have a bad pump. How did the tank look inside ? You should get 36psi -38psi immediately. Leak-down should hold for at least 5 minutes plus.

Without vac, you should read 42-46 psi and it should be steady, pressure should not flinch at all rpms under load.

Check the pump for a split in the small hose...a bad pump can keep the truck running for awhile, but it won't last. Somethings going on with it.

My mechanic dropped the tank. Cleaned it. Said it didn’t need replacing.. but did replace the fuel pump and sock and filter...
when I cycle the koeo the pressure shoots up to 36 psi and then drops pretty quick.. goes to 0 within 5 mins.. which isn’t normal right?
haynes manual says fuel system should hold 30 - 40 after 5 mins.
but what I don’t get is why it starts so good when cold.. even without priming the system. And when warm it won’t start even when the system is primed!
its so bizarre. Makes me think it’s electrical.. but again .. the fuel system is leaking somewhere so that def is an issue. How do I determine if it’s leaking at the injectors or the check valve??

Leak-down fails as well. Okay, so what is exact running pressure (KOER). Is it steady ?

What is exact ruining pressure under load without vac ? (Take it for ride with pressure gauge under your wiper blade to verify)

Haynes/Chilton is good to have, better than nothing. Unfortunately, not always accurate. But I do believe they have the correct procedure to diagnose the fuel system down....with regulator info.

Koer is steady at 30 psi..
driving it’s at 35 -40 .. kinda fluctuates a bit but never drops bellow 30
as soon as it shuts off it drops to 20 within 10 secs then slowly goes to zero over the course of 5mins ish.

And like I said before if you pull the vac line on the fpr it shoots up to 40 psi

Nah, - I think somethings up with the pump. Leak down test fails along with inconsistent pressure readings. Loses pressure fast. I think that's happening in the tank. Otherwise you would smell gas.

If the EGR valve was hanging, it would run absolutely horrible and stall.
