Default This weekend Gotts mod

Howdy

I know I am bringing alive a old topic but I think I want to do the gotts mod to my truck this weekend. First off I have a 2001 ford f150 super crew 2wd. Now I do off road my truck a lot I do not mud bog my truck but I do get in the mud and off road. So I am hoping that this mod will be ok with my off road driving.

Can somebody please give me a rundown on the materials that I will need for this project and Instructions?

Thank you guys

Also any tips, tricks, and advice would be appreciated.

How about your advice on the spectre hose rather than the PVC pipe?

Got a pic of the spectre part you're talking about? PVC is cheaper, and probably more durable. Just follow the instructions on the DIY, its a simple and quick job. The toughest part is taking material off of the PVC so it will fit into the irregular hole in the inner fender. I will say this, I noticed no changes after doing this mod, but I didn't gut the intake either.

I used a bench grinder to shave down the pvc pipe to fit in the fender, it will take hours with a file or dremel. just a hose coupler from lowes. umm thats pretty much it. I didnt really notice an improvement, later i gutted the silencer, right after that i power braked it and left parallels on the asaphalt for about 100ft. i got some pics of that on my phone

materials as already stated are pvc and hose coupler. i have the exact same truck (and definitely use it offroad plenty ) but i really did not notice a difference except above 3k rpms and at that its very minimal. but you just have to know that it really is allowing air to come in easier because of the less restriction so it must help a little? also a tip on grinding the pvc it takes alot more shaving then i initially thought.

have fun!!
