Default wanting to do a gear upgrade

hey guys,

i have a 02 f150 extended cab with 37's and a 9 inch lift, i beleive that the factory gears are still in this thing and i wanna go to a bigger ratio, i have always been told that anything over 35's to change the gears. but what gears would be good for the truck without breaking the bank.lol

Get 4:56 gears. Prolly get it done for around $1500 depending on where you live.

It has to be done precisely, so a shop is your best bet. 4.56s are good for 35s, you can go to a 4.88 for 37/38" tire..

I'd do a gear calculator to see what you should have depending on what you want. I'm going with 35's, and my truck has 3.55's in it now. So a 3:90 would put me pretty much back to stock. According to the gear calculator, a 4:10 will put me at around a 3:70 gear, which will give it a lil more grunt without killing my highway driving. So I'm going the 4:10 route. I drive 1hr 10 mins daily on the interstate, so I cant get crazy...
