Default vent obstruction

hello all, i have a 2000 f150 v8, 4.6 with performance issues that we suspect are due to vacuum/throttle body issues. anyways, about 8 months ago thieves broke out my passenger window and stole my stereo along with the vent housing that pops in around it. Couple months later i had a prescription bottle setting in the empty hole where the vent cover used to be. it was cold, i turned the heater on and the bottle got sucked in or something. i've felt around as best i could but i can't feel the bottle nowhere in there. my question is how do i get the bottle back out and could this have anything to do with my vacuum issues? thanx in advance.

You talking about your blend door? They took the vacuum lines off the back of your unit so it doesn't open towards feet, face, and defrost? It was all on defrost before you put the poll bottle in there, and when you wedges the pill bottle in there it blew towards your face?

Just trying to understand your post.

no, im saying that the bottle went inward. the little flap inside that opens and shuts when you turn the vent ****. thats the only place that i can tell that it went. if you know of some other place or part of the duct work that it could have went, i would appreciate you letting me know. thanx again.

So you're just wanting to retrieve your pill bottle? Yeah that's where it went. I hate to tell you this but you're more than likely going to have to pull your dash.

One time I put an oz in there (on top of the blend door and i had it open for the vents so it feel on through, and when I got to the location I was going my arm was too short to reach all the way to the bottom passed the blend "trap" door. So me being the lazy butt I am I broke open a hole with a flat head screw driver. I knew I had a spare down at the barn to replace it, and still to this day I have changed my ducking in the Harley. This was in '05 time when I was in college. Needless to say the 2 hours I had to travel it smelt like I had a freshly ran over skunk in my cab, whoops.

"Oz of gold guys"

The bottle doesn't have anything to do with vacuum issues though.

This is with the dash/ducking/and wiring harness removed. That's the blend door where it fell, I'm just giving you a better idea of what you're working with to know if it would be worth it or not to get them out.

Personally you wouldn't have to remover the harness, I'm swapping to a new year to run a digital cluster. This is where my spare one came from, my 4x4 since I wanted to ditch the weight anyways, it was a no brainier to save 14hours and fug up the Harley's
Regardless it fell down pretty far and I learned from that one expieriance I'll be a good kid or pop the door switch up. Lol

Haha no problem, yeah when I was sticking my arm through the ducking my hand went right passed the blend door and there was still a good 10-12" to go.

Make another post about your vacuum issue, I'm pretty sure these guys on the board could help you pin point it. Like post what the trucks doing, when its doing, and anything that might be of some help for them.

Get something flammable and spray everything i mean everything, under your hood while its running, like starter fluid, carb cleaner, something like that, if your truck revs up from the richer mixture then you found your leak.

That's if you think it might be originating from that area. "Motor" you'll probably get more hits with a new post though that's more pin pointed towards a vacuum leak.

yeah, thanks for the advice. i have crawled all over this forum and haven't had any questions that weren't answered with a search. my pcv hose was cracked at the intake, carbon build up to the extreme. cleaned it all out as best i could. pulled the fuel rail, the injectors, and the spark plugs. the plugs have so much sludge-like gunk on them i am wondering about just putting the new plugs back in. if the plugs are all crapped up with this stuff should i somehow clean out the spark plug hole? is there a way? do i need to worry about it? thanx again
