Used Tuner?
I can get a used Superchips Flashpaq for my 2002 FX4 5.4 with 200,000 km on it. First is it worth spending the money on a tuner for a truck with this milage, and second is this particular tuner worth $200 used?
Let me know your opinion, Thanks

I can't say to the value of it as I don't know how much that brand generally sells for but just make sure its unlocked or be payin another fee to get it unlocked. And high miles won't affect a tuner and how it works or hurt the truck at all

Too much money for that unit.
My flashpaq did not make a noticeable difference in anything except the shifts.

I just out an Edge CS in my 2003 with 157k miles. I think that's more than 200k km. I don't regret it at all. Is it the 1865 Flashpaq? I've used a Hypertech Power programmer, an SCT Livewire, a Superchips Flashpaq, and my current Edge, and in my opinion, depending on your expectations, they all will improve the performance of your truck. I've used them on a 2004 Ranger, a 1998 Expy, and my 2003 screw, but I've never used more than 2 different ones on the same vehicle. In each case where I've used more than one on a vehicle, I noticed that they all work differently. The Edge "seems" to work better on my 03 than the SCT. But I didn't have any custom tunes for the SCT, so my opinion isn't really backed up by more than seat of the pants feeling.
I used the Flashpaq on my son's 2004 Ranger. I worked well. In economy mode, it bumped up the MPG (KPL? )by 2 MPG on a long trip to Albequerque. At sea level is made a major improvement to his high end power.
I guess it comes down to what your expectations are. Is that price in Canadian $ or American? It seems a little pricey to me, but not excessively so. I'd research some of the other brands as well before I purchased, but personally, I'd end up getting one. Make sure you know which tunes it will come with. I've learned that even though the programmer supports several tune profiles, not all of them are available or all suported vehcles. Make sure the profle you want to run, is supported by your vehicle.

Forgot about that one! Definitely make sure it's unlocked!! I looked at a used Edge, and when we plugged it into my truck so I could confirm it worked, it came up with a message about being married to a different vehicle.
