Default Upper/Lower Intake Gasket Replacement

This weekend's project is replacing the upper/lower intake gaskets on my '99 4.2 Supercab. I bought the Fel Pro gasket set, and the lower has the "PermaDryPlus" technology...it says no RTV needed. Has anyone used these yet? Is this technology legit?

Also, any tips/lessons learned from anyone that has tackled this job would be appreciated! I plan to drain the coolant by opening the radiator plug and letting the truck idle until the thermostat opens versus trying to remove the block plug that has never been removed. Everything I've read on here says removing that thing is a PITA

i used it they work fine no RVT needed. If you have to take it back apart the gaskets are reusable too. I bought the gaskets not knowing the truck had the gaskets on them already and i could have reused them. Clean the manifold out with Transmission fluid. Put it in a spray bottle and spray it down. Let it sit for an hour or 2 and just go wipe it down. You wont kill your arms scrubbing and you wont damage the aluminum.

Overal, the gasket replacment went pretty well. However, I have a question about one of the hoses on the back of the upper plenum, specifically the top one in the attached diagram. Where does it go to? I thought I had it marked, but apparently I forgot that one.
