So far heat on the top of the air intake and the throttle body cover hasn't been an issue. The paint isn't melting or chipping, still looks like the day I painted them lol. It has only been this way for a month or so, so time will only tell.

I used regular chrome paint and a sponge until it was smooth

I like the paint!
Oh and you might want to change out that cruise control cut off switch and get the new switch and harness!! ($20 at O'reilys)

Sorry it was off topic, just noticed it. The red switch on the front of your master cylinder has a recall on it. Just google f150 cruise control switch recall. I believe the kit to fix it is motorcraft sw-6350 http://m.oreillyauto.com/mt/www.orei...1965&ppt=C0039

Just thought id point that out for you as it is a fire hazard.

Btw how did you paint the lines on the intake bend so smoothly?

Got that done with the gas tank strap about 8 months ago, thanks tho lol.

The bends where a PITA. First I tried just painting on there with didn't work because it dripped off the lines and it is hard to chisel off, so I had to use acetone to get it all off which tool about 30 mins lol. Finally I just put the thin frog tape over it, squished it in the groves and used a box knife to cut around the bends and then painted it. Next morning peel the tape off and it looked good. I tried to cut the tape at the top part of the bends, but I would not do that again. It took me 2 hours just cutting the tape. I would just cut the tape on the bottom where it meet the rest of the tube and paint the sides as well.

-Start with damp soapy rag if super dirty (mine wasn't that bad)
-Then move on to tire foam and wipe off
-Then a spray bottle of simple green or equally diluted degreaser (general citrus or detergent cleaner) along with a second spray bottle to jet into hard to wipe spots (like crevasses in power steering resivior) and spray over what you hit with degreaser. Wipe off til clean
-finally, mist the engine bay with Sonus Motorkote, only takes a light mist. Close hood and allow to dry overnight!

Oka sweet glad you got it fixed.

Thank you! Will have to try that when the weather warns up with the chrome paint I have!

I didn't realize we have a cover over the wires on the passenger side firewall, damn I'll have to see if I can grab one of them. Tho I like the look without lol. But it's gotta be there for a reason

I have no regard for weather lol. Just crank up the heat in the garage and start painting.

That cover is the next thing on my list to paint- it has a Ford logo on it lol.
