Ok, got a 97 f150, 5.4. Fuse number 5 in the cab was blown, witch controls the ac, cruise, back up lights. Replaced fuse and now the starter continues running even after truck is started. Removed the #5 fuse and everything worked perfect...minus the air and cruise. Ford said that fuse has nothing to do with the starter but apperantley it is causeing something to mess up. Help? Thanks in advance.

Miles on truck/starter? Sounds like it is stuck in engaged position, replace starter? Wait for others to reply as well.

Miles on truck, 243000. On starter about 5,000.. when the #5 fuse is removed the starter works perfect, doesnt stay ingauged. But if i put fuse back in, for air or cruise, the starter stays inguaged.
