Turns out, GEM is not the problem!! Now What??
You can read about all the issues I'm having with my '97 2wd in my original post.

But after replacing the GEM, all the problems are still there. Any other ideas on what may be cuasing this??? I'm going crazy trying to figure this out!!

Not yet, but I'm thinking about it!
One additional thing I may not have mentioned before, the speedometer works about 70% of the time, 30% it reads zero. And occasionly I hear a distinct clicking sound that seems to be coming from somewhere around the fuse box area, maybe up towards the steering column. I really need to get this resolved, as it stands right now I have to remove the battery cable everytime I park the truck, or the battery will go dead. Anybody got a clue???
