Default Tuner question

I've heard that higher mileage vehicles, (100k+) shouldn't invest in a tuner because of wear and tear on the motor!? Is this a good recommendation or would it be ok to buy one?

I don't really see why the mileage would affect how a tuner works as it reflashes the PCM with different settings.
A blower yes, I wouldn't do at high mileage without a leakdown compression test but a simple tuner should be fine.

What you might have heard about is some Super Duty trucks have to be careful with certain tuners at higher mileages but that's only cause one particular tuner cause the transmission to run much hotter then normal.

That's the only thing I've heard about and I'm a certified SCT dealer.

Which tuner makes the transmission run hotter?

Bully and it's only on certain model SD trucks.

What tuner do you have and do you like it? What benefits did you notice from it?

I have the edge evo tuner and it's great ... I've already had intake and exhaust ... Then put throttle body spacer and programmer on and notice allot more throttle response and tranny shift points ... Also I did gain more on mpg !

I've heard talk about that tuner eating up gas mileage. What kind of gains did you see?
