Removing the starter requires removing the ground. If the connection was dirty or loose when you reinstalled it you cleaned part of it. Inspect the cables for corrosion. It tends to wick up the cable under the casing.

gone back over everthing with crc electronics cleaner,next on my list to fix is some new rancho shocks
