Default Before and After or With and Without

Only paid $ 300 for the Cap so I can live with it and camp in it.

Wow, those look great.
But to be honest, they basically turn a pickup into an SUV.

When I need one for camping, I pitch a truck tent in the bed. Most of the other times, I actually need the top cleared for those trips to Rooms to Go outlet, or something like that. I'd have to have it off more than on. I don't miss one, as my '92 F150 had one. All depends on what you use your truck for. Fully capped is usually a job for an Expedition.

Mantic,
To give you an idea what a white truck looks like with a dark cap, here is my 2000 f150 with a burgundy cap I just bought last weekend. I had been thinking about getting a cap for a while, but decided to do it now mainly to help my daughter do some moving later this week and then again in the winter. I like it pretty well with a contrasting color, but it would probably look better without the gold trim on the truck. I think the truck drives a little better with the cap with better balance.

I've still got a little problem - the bedliner is curved forward at the front middle where it comes up close to the cab, and there is a small gap with the cap where it probably is going to leak. I need to find a way to pull the middle of the bedliner back a little.

That shell for 250 is a great deal, considering that the shell ONLY fits the 97-03's F150/250LD and some of the SD's, but not all. It is getting harder trying to find a good shell that has all the glass, clamps, and made of fiberglass. I used the hard shell tonneau for the summer, and switch back to the shell for the winter, to keep the snow out of the bed. Works great. Too much of a hassle w/the tonneau in the winter with snow and all, so I use the shell.

Trust me for 250 if it was local I'd be allover it. I could prolly get it painted for a bit. But a 3 hour drive both ways at 3.50 a gallon isn't looking good for my truck... It likes to eat gas.. =P

And yeahh I kinda like the look of a cap on a truck.. I'd def have to put some kc lights on it =D

huh... ? have you ever ridden in an SUV?
how often do you put something in the bed of your truck that sticks up over the roof anyways?
for me the only thing is my 4 wheeler, which i have a trailer for anyways, tryin to stuff it in the back of the truck with all your spare wheels, gas cans, parts, tools, etc isnt worth the hassle.
having 6.5 x 5 ft of dirty storage in a truck witha cap is in no way the same as having an suv
i throw my saws, tools, all sorts of **** in the back, close the cap, and lock it, if that was an SUV the whole car would stink of gas, the back would be covered in oil, gas, greese, no where to put tools. etc.
would you fill the back of an SUV with hay? bags of mulch? soil? plants? the list could go on, its a truck bed, like any other truck bed, not a carpeted SUV with folded seats in the way and an interior to stink up.
you can throw an air matress in the back and camp out in a capped truck, not in aan SUV

sorry but your comparison to SUvs makes no sense ,not even close

Hmm wondering what the weight diff is between a cap and a hard tonneau. Jet wondering. Either way not a big deal lol. I got a hard tonneau and all the talk of a cap has got me thinking. Does anyone have a cap on a long bed 97-03 white that maybe I could get an idea what it would look like. I just might think or trading my tonneau for a cap. I need a change lol.
