get this one guys the comps. at both advance and auto zone don't pick up any codes of the port that is why i am trying to get them without the scanner

 

you cant pull codes from an OBD2 EEC without a scanner. Therefore you either need to go to a different autozone of find a friend with a scanner.

Did you turn the key to accessory on after plugging in the scanner?

 

Check the cigarette lighter fuse. If its blown you wont be able to pull codes from the OBD2 port.
