Default Transmission help!!!

My truck has 126k miles. Not sure if it's the original or a rebuilt tranny. Today coming home, it would not go into 3rd. I babied it straight to Advanced Auto at 30mph at 2000+rpm to get a code check. Nothing. I got in and drove it home and it shifted just fine.

What is going on? Any info is greatly appreciated as it's my daily driver and need it tomorrow, not sure if its gonna be able to make it or not.

How is the transmission fluid? Maybe it needs a new filter and new fluid. (I am assuming its an AT)

Maybe a plugged filter or low transmission fluid? Possibly the gears that engage third are finally wearing down, and hydraulic pressure cannot sustain friction. You really never know with transmissions till something pops haha.

Fluid is red and right on target on the dipstick. As far as the filter I'm not sure. Only put 3k on it since I got it a year and a half ago. Advanced tried telling me is was some kind if solenoid.

Do what I'm doing bro ride her till she dies. Then throw a remanfactured tranny at it. NEVER EVER USE A REBUILD unless you like large prices for a 20k mile fix.
