Default transmission fluid

i need to change my transmission fluid,i dont know if it would be cheaper to do it myself or take it somewhere,i dont know how to do it if i do it myself,so any help

I would do it yourself. Basicly unbolt the tranny pan. Clean up the magnet in the pan itself. Drain the torque converter if its an auto. To do this you have to turn the engine manually so the drain plug is lined up with the access hole on the bell housing.

More info will help get a better response. Year,engine,auto/manual,kms/miles

When my Fords need the transmission change service, I always take it to the dealership since they have deep pockets if they screw up and ruin my transmission, especially when it comes to leaks from the new gasket (haven't had one yet) and they only use Ford parts and fluid. Wrong fluid in that transmission and it is all over, so only use spec fluid if you do it yourself. The change is easy IF you can easily drop the pan without moving something else and provided all the bolts come out easily. Changing transmission fluid and the filter is just something I never wanted to mess with. Get some sand or dirt in it by accident and it's toast. Best done in a garage with a lift.
