Default Transmission Cooler. Pics?

A friend of mine gave me a Hayden trans cooler for my truck. I would like to see if anyone here mounted an aftermarket cooler in their truck, and also happened to take some pics? I'm looking for an idea or two on mounting it. I'd rather not mount it to the radiator.

I have a similar one, haven't put it in yet, however, Depending if you have the auxillary transmission cooler on your rig, then your best course of action would be to run this one in-line with that, just cut the lines with the right tool. Then mount it and just use rubber hose and double hose clamp each line where it needs to go (I.E. the return line). theres another guy that did one on a lighting I have seen, completely different, he used stainless steel braided lines and a massive cooler. But not to bad to install, just takes some creativity. essentially its a "bolt on" installation.

Thanks for the reply! Mine does have the auxiliary cooler. I am figuring on using it still, or maybe mounting it in the home of the auxiliary cooler. Any trans lines that I cut I will also be double flaring to help combat leaks and hoses from popping off. I'm more less looking for ideas on how others have mounted them. I don't want to use the radiator ties it came with.

Honestly, unless you are towing daily you don't need anything else.
If anything, install a small fan on your aux cooler. Those coolers are made cheap and leak easily from debris. Unless it is for asethics I would stay stock, or add a fan to my oem.

Yea give me a minute, theirs a thread on another forum. But when I got mine I couldn't find anything. And what tool are you going to use for flaring? thats one thing I haven't figured out yet. But my thought process on mounting is cutting the lines, have it go from the aux cooler to the new one, mount the new on the upper part of right side of the radiator ( so you dont kink any of the rubber lines) then have it run into the return and you are all good.

Completely different cooler, but gives you a starting point.

I'm going to use this set. It also has the bending tool, but I'm not sure how easy that will be to use on the existing lines already in the truck.

I found it to be pretty easy when I put in the super duty cooler. Just cut, flare and clamp. Prior to the install, I have checked my temps a handful of times and seen 170-180 in the hottest months not towing. I think it stays around 140 at the highest now under the same conditions. I never see over 160 again- even towing 5000 lbs during the summer. During the winter, it runs at 100. I think it was a worthwhile upgrade for me.

Yea I never needed one. Thought about though at one time. Ounce I started running good fluid, it brought the temps right down, it's never got hot on me towing. Checked it multiple times, not with a gauge....fingers on the stick. I like that gauge better.
