Transmision help please

Default Transmision help please

How offten does the Transmision fuild and filter need to be changed? I have heard several differnt things and I'm thinking that I'm way past due.

I preach, do as is recommended, unfortunately I brag about being 185K and never touched. What is the oil telling you, smell and color are signals.

Smell is fine but the color is just starting to turn.

Change it now. Do not wait any longer. Recommend going with the Ford oil as is suggested in the owners manual. I'm sure there are oils that perhaps are better under certain conditions (never mentioned) than Fords oil, and most likely are a little more expensive. Are you that extreme driver that needs this hipe. Do as is recommended by the Ford Engineers.

Thanks I was planning on changing it this weekend. I also have to change the oil and tranny fuild in my mother-in-laws truck. I'm going have so much oil in my system after this weekend it wont even be funny
