Transfer Case Fluid Change
I ended up changing out the fluid in my transfer case yesterday (4x4 auto) and was surprised to see how dirty the fluid was. I know most people think to change the oil, trans fluid, coolant, front and rear difs, but the transfer case is often overlooked. On my 2002 Screw FX4, the recommended fluid is Mercon V transmission fluid. I ended up needing just a hair over two quarts and used Mobil 1 synthetic ATF fluid. If you don't have a pump, I would highly recommend picking up something like this:

It makes your life so much easier when draining and filling transfer cases and difs. I just wanted to post this up because, in my experience, people often overlook this crucial fluid drain/fill.

Good call Sir.
You're correct, it is often over looked and a reminder is always welcomed!
Also, that dang cross member is in the way and makes for a heck of a mess if you don't have a way to funnel the fluid down.
