Trans swap

I have a 2001 Ford F-150 4.2 and wanted to know if I could swap a trans from a 2002 Ford F150 lariat

Only if it has a 4.2 and I don't believe any Lariats were 4.2 in 02. It has to be a 99 thru 03 for the v6. Your trans will have a 1L3P- tag number. 2wd is 1L3P-DA and 4wd is 1L3P-EA.
