The gear indicator in my dash is not synchronized with my column shifter. I have a 1998 4.6L, the indicator is stuck just passed 1st gear. How do I fix it so it works properly? I am assuming it is just a cable on top of the trans?

 

did you try bangin it a few times to see if itll get unstuck?

 

Where would I try banging it?
