Default trans bangs when gunned?

2001 4.6 crew cab with 114000 on the clock

Trans shifts smooth while normal driving. If I'm going 20,30 ,40 mph and floor it the trans bangs into next gear with a very hard shift. any ideas?

fluid is pinkish and full

thanks

no. its not slow at all. I'm not flooring it to beat on it, just for passing or fast start to oncoming traffic. like out of a parking lot (example)

Well, check the trans and engine mounts. The trans mounts wear out in these trucks, when they do, they eventually bust the exhaust manifold studs. Can snap them right off in the back, passenger side breaks first.

I will check the u joints and mounts. Thanks for the reply. at least it gives me a place to start. Too worried about taking it in for a trans tune-up and being told I need a rebuild.

I had a bolt come out of my drivers side motor mount.... and it clunked when I took off from a dead stop.
