has any 1 changed there fluid in the trans or had it flushed yet ? is it really needed? at what milage is it needed ? have a2006 fx4 supercrew black 1. thanks KTP 97

I think ford recommends to change it every 30,000 miles. Its a good idea if you want it to last. Changing the trans fluid is like changing your motor oil, it keeps the trans lubricated properly. If you don't change you motor oil or trans fluid they are not going to get lubricated properly and will shorten the life of both.

Dirt and heat are the 2 worst enemies of an auto trans. Keep it cool and clean to avoid problems. I'd service it.
