Default Tranny Upgrades

Hey guys, as we speak my truck is having its 4R70W yanked out and rebuilt. I was looking for some upgrades that might be cheap that i could have the mechanic implement while the tranny is out. Off the top of my head I am thinking a Torque Converter with a higher stall ratio, if this is a good idea then what do you think I should move up to? (I am not even sure what the factory torque converter is) or maybe a shift kit, does anybody have any experience with these?

Unless you are planning on building a power plant that will put out more than 500hp I wouldn't waste money on upgrades. Just get a programmer, you can adjust shift points and firmness with that.

If it isnt going to be a race truck, (by "race" i mean 500hp+) i probably wouldnt bother with a stall, and AFSOCSGT is right, you can change all your shift points and get more power out of your engine. If you have the money and/or feeling brave, do a head/cam swap and THEN get a stall and a programmer

Definitely not enough money growing on the trees for any major engine work. May just get a tuner, I wasn't so sure that they had enough control to firm up the shifts that much. Thanks Guys.
