Ive got a 01 4x4 with a 5.4. What im wondering is will a tranny from a 4.6 work with this motor? The tranny for the 4.6 is also out of a 01 4x4 from what the guy told me. I know its a 4r70w but not sure whats in mine. If not what other trannys will mate with the 5.4

 

Might want to check thread by tatood 2, he took out 4.6 and put in a 5.4 and now is having downshift concerns.

Just want to double check before i buy it. Tranny code on my truck is U. I beleive U is a 4r70w. Am i right?
