tranny
got stuck in a field entrance full of snow a while back with no 4 wheel drive and bald tires.(always keep good rubber on now) anyway, messed up my reverse gear gettin unstuck because i have too high of pride to call anyone. this happend about 2-2 1/2 years ago. i have been babying the reverse ever since, takes about 4 seconds to get into reverse and shudders REALLY bad if you get into the throttle to hard while reversing, and i also cant back up anything steep or pull any weight backwards. is it worth rebuilding or looking for a whole new tranny?

Rebuild vs a different trans is up to you. Your penny. You don't know what was wrong with a different one you buy. It was someone else's broken transmission. Unless you buy brand new, if you could find one.
Rebuild yours or have a reputable shop do it. A reman transmission for my truck from Ford was $3900 installed.

Where as I just bought a whole parts truck with a recently rebuilt transmission for 700 bucks in the event my transmission does go out. But I got a steal of a deal and wasn't trying to find a transmission. I just happened onto it.
