Default Trailer wire for 7 flat blade connection

I have a 01 supercrew lariat 4x4 with the 5.4. I bought the 7 blade trailer wire kit that came with a T connection and relays. I installed a old Reese pod brake controller with the the aftermarket harness for under the dash and wired it to the brake controller. Problem is the little light isn't on the controller at all. If I test my connection at the rear of the truck the brake light works, turn signal works and driving lights work. I had a board pressing down on the brake pedal and my test light lights up on the brake controller output of the trailer plug that is on the truck. I did install the relay for the brake system and back up that is under the hood. I have not tested the reverse light connector yet. No one to hold brake and put it in reverse. I don't have a trailer to check the connection yet just using a test light.

I couldn't really follow the second half of that post, but I think your problem is there is no power to your brake controller. But all your lights still work. I assume that's correct?

So if your brake controller isn't getting power, I would double check your relays, make sure they're seated properly, and then check the fuses. Make sure they're in the right spots, and are the correct size. Check both the in cab and under the hood in the manual because there might be more than one.

I have power to the tab on the trailer plug connection that is dedicated to the brake controller. So does that mean I have power to the controller. Also I stuck my meter into the black wire connection that goes to my controller at the dash.

Thinking about it I don't remember getting power to the 12 volt on the plug at the back of truck. That would be top right is what the pic shows. Guess I will take my controller wires apart and see what's going on.
