Put the old cam sensor back in and it still wouldn’t turn over.

Well the pump is just about toast...nah it's toast. Explains why is doesn't always start. What will happen the more you screw with it eventually, it'll just quit firing all together. Be careful here...VERY VERY careful, you could easily hydrolic and take the engine out completely. As soon as you noticed those pressures you should of quit immediately...not kidding!

Promar isn't a new engine is it? Do you mean to say it's a refurb or reman ? Did Promar purchase brand new from Ford...sort of like Hennessy. Sounds very expensive.

Sorry for not responding for a while, been busy with holiday stuff and left the truck for a while. Promar is a company that rebuilds engines to custom specs. They start with lightning 5.4 cores and work from there. As for the truck, I swapped the spark plugs out after doing another spark test and she fired right up. Checked the fuel pressure and it’s reading normal. Probably gonna swap the pump out soon anyways as it’s got right around 225k miles on it and I’m not sure I trust it. I’m still getting a persistent P0340 code which is the camshaft position sensor. Swapped that out with another one and still getting the code. Truck has a slightly rough idle but runs normally otherwise. Any advice?
