i just got 2003 FX4/XLT and it doesn't have the tow package, just wanted to know if i could just bult on the reciver that comes with the tow package if i could find one. just so i dont bend the back bumper up if i do deside to tow any thing.

 

the back bumper will still hold suite a bit of weight, but not as much and its a pain to change *****. shorter turning radius too. But yea the stock frame mount hitch should bolt right up or you could buy one form like e-hitches that would also bolt up. the wiring is not problem, they make jumpers to plug in to existing harnesses and viola. just will have to run you own wires for trailer brakes.
