Default Tough Decision Here...

Alright guys so heres the situation. I now have enough money for tires. I am getting 315/70/17s. Ive been looking at the goodyear mtr with kevlar and really want some, BUT is it worth the money? Or do i buy cheaper tires (treadwrights or duratracs) and use the rest of the money for other upgrades (exhaust, n-fab steps, programmer)

1) I buy the mtr with kevlar

2) I buy the GuardDogs and finish my exhaust and buy an edge cs.

I dont want to regret getting the treadwrights but i keep thinking that it would make more sense to get them. I need some input from yall to help me out. Anything other suggestions would be considered.

I've never been a fan of retreaded tires in general. IMO I would buy some Goodyear mud terrains. On the other hand I've never heard a bad thing about them on the forum I know mpbball or something like that has them on his rig and so far so well there are a few threads about those retreads I would read up on them and then ask someone who has them for a little insight I don't have anything special on my rig I got 265/70/16 Goodyear rts and they do just fine and they were cheap enough for me to order my edge and finish up my exhaust and a few other mods.

So good luck on that one lemme know what you decide

I wouldn't put retreads on anything but a dedicated off road truck. That just doesnt seem safe for highway use

just my two cents i have had a buddy that had the goodyears before on his truck and now i am trying out the guard dogs from treadwright upon looking at comparsion photos of brand new tires of both the guard dogs have almost a 1/2 inch more tread than the name brand and the reason for this and yes i talked to treadwright on this they said that they do that so you don't have to replace your tires as often but at the moment i'm in krgyistan or something like that and on my home once i get home i'll let you know what i think of them and after i've had them on the truck on and off road i'll let you know

Thanks for the input. I am not sure yet but leaning towards the mtr with kevlar.
The reason im so skeptical on the treadwrights is because I havent seen many people run the size I want for a daily driver, theyve all been for off road only. I drive mostly city but go offroad on the weekends.

You will not go wrong with the Goodyear MTR, had them on my truck and if I were to still go offloading I would get them again, the traction in the mud is awesome and still had decent on road capabilities.

MTR's all the way man! I've had two sets in 75K and will never own another brand of M/T or A/T!
