Default Totally fed up

So long story short went to put my truck in 4wd and it would not work. Tried multiple times back and forth and nothing, wound up getting stuck in a rut and bent my step bar, got muddy, etc. So later that day went to get my windshield tinted, hop in the truck after that and the wipers wont work play with them for a sec and they work. Also noticed that when in neutral the 4x4 light would come on in the dash. Next morning on the way to work the 4x4 light would come on intermittently and click. Also had 4 sets of 5 audible tones coming from somewhere. Got to work and played around and finally got it to go in and out of 4x4. When I left work the 4x4 light would still come on sometimes and the power windows would not work after initial start but then after a short time they work. I changed the battery as it was old and ready to be replaced this helped nothing. At one point when in reverse the dome light would sit and flicker on and off. I swear its always something with this truck and it only has 72k miles. Im guessing it is a bad gem but im afraid to know what that will cost even though my dad works at a ford dealer. I know thats alot to read I just needed to vent about this situation and if anyone has any ideas or suggestions please let me know!
Thank you

I just read your whole thread on this. So you ended up buying a used gem and had it programmed? Was your fuse box okay?

That's where it gets tricky. I was at a dealership that should have a gold star for throw parts at it till it fixes. That's why mine took so long. Ended up the used one was bad. True ****. Original is actually what's in the truck now.

Well my dad ordered a refurbished gem through Ford should have it in about a week. Sure hope it fixes this thing. Then I can focus on everything else that goes wrong when it gets wet, AKA coil packs

Why do some people have trouble with coils? I've never had a problem with them and getting wet. I even use the car wash under the hood to wash the engine. Did I get lucky?

Yes. Blown one from mud hole
That had standing water. Blew another when I temporarily bypassed heater core and the hose connect snapped and dripped on the coil.

It got to the point I started keeping extras because they'd go out so much in mud or even high water, I've probably gone through 8. I drove my dads truck for a bit and had to replace 2 and it never went near mud lol. You may just be a lucky sob.
