Default torsion keys

so my friend is putting torsion keys in his truck, he has a 99 f150, how hard is it to do this

if u tond have a torsion bar tool, a pain in the ***. it takes alot of torching and hammering but it can be done in about and hour and a half....with beer and smpoke breaks

umm it shouldnt be as hard as stated above ^^

i think he is talking about when you re-index your torsion bars you need to heat up stuff and hammer a lot.

but as for putting in keys it shouldnt be too hard, just spray liquid wrench on it the day before to help the bolts come out easier. other than that all you need is a tool for removing the tension from the bar or you can use a large c-clamp with the top piece of the threaded piece cut off so you can fit it in the spots on the torsion keys to remove the tension safely.

i tried to explain it as easily as possible with out pictures. lol if you watch Extreme 4x4 or Trucks (dont remember which had it )on TV they recently just did this on one of their shows.

there is no cutting required for torsion keys. you just need a torsion bar unloader or a large c clamp (i used a ball joint press with a custom insert made from a broken breaker bar). it shouldnt take that long. i had to remove my crossmember only because the t-bars wouldnt slide out of the control arms.

Ok so i have a 2000 and i got the rough country 2.5 keys and 1ch blocks for the rear end. well got the rear end done and im having trouble with the front i have tried the air hammer pb sledge everything and the trossion bars are still stuck in so i cant get the old keys out the next step i can think of is fire does any one have any other ideas
