Default Torque Converter

I have a 1999 F150 with 5.4L engine. The transmission is a 4R70W. I need a new torque converter(TC) . I plan on pulling one from the junkyard since I don't have alot of cash. Will a TC from a 2004 Ford Expedition, which is a 4R75E.

What about the solenoids? Are they interchangeable?
  • TCC Solenoid
  • EPC Solenoid
  • Dual Shift Solenoid

I don't know for sure, but I can tell you who will know. Call Anjo Machine. They are on 775 West and 1355 South. Their number is 801-972-1605

All they do is converters.

The other questions, my friend owns All Quality Transmissions. He might be able to tell you.

I don't think a 4R75E torque converter will work in a 4R70W. I think that was a difference in the two

I just called that Anjo place and they said as far as they can see, it should work.

I thought it might. They "look" the same to me. If the converter you are putting in it came from a 4.6 though, the stall is different.
