Default Toolbox question

Ok I have a 1997 reg cab f150 and a guy at work has pretty much the same truck except it's stepside bed. He is willing to sale me the toolbox off it. I was just wondering if I would have any fitment issues with his being a stepside bed and mine not. Thanks on advance for any help

Um if it's step side and his is fleet side that means the box is way narrower on the step than the fleet right? Pretty sure, because they wont fit. Normally boxes for a ranger fit step sides but you needs a fullsize box for a styleside. I would do some measuring with a tape measure first.
