Default tonneau covers

any of you guys have a tonneau cover and experience any increase in mileage? i've been looking into getting one but if it doesn't do what it says then i'm not gonna blow my money. they say 10% improvement which is about 1.5 mpg.

I put on a hard tonneau cover. It's sturdy and heavy, and I believe the miniscule gain I got in mileage was negated by the additional weight. I enjoy the appearance, and the security afforded me when it's locked, but I don't think I gained any mpg.

It does not effect your gas milage. I have a soft tri-fold one and it doesnt do anything.

I have a Peragon, and haven't seen an increase in the city, but did on the highway. We took a trip from GA to VA (8 hours, 6 people) with a LOADED bed for a week. Pulled right at 18.6 I think on the way up, got 19.9 headed back down, with a bit less stuff. I've driven on the highway with a full bed before, uncovered, and got about 17, roughly same driving conditions/patterns. I did all the driving, so different drivers were not a factor.

I've got a hard locking tonneau. I don't think I got better mpg. Like was stated a few answers back the weight offset the mpg gain. BUT I do like how the whole truck looks with it plus being able to lock it and have an 8 foot long trunk LOLOL.
