Default Tonneau Cargo Basket

has anyone ever seen a cargo basket in top of a tonneau cover something similar to this on our trucks?

I have something similar. I put a Yakima MegaWarrior basket with the 22" extension on my tonneau. We use it to haul our bikes on camping trips.

Thats perfect and exactly what I was looking for. Can you still open the cover? How much weight can it handle? and how much did it cost you?

The cover opens still. Loaded up with 6 bikes, it does get too heavy for the tonneau shocks to hold in the opened position. If it needs to be opened when it's fully loaded, I have no problem lifting it up, I am going to make a couple of prob rods to hold it in those situations. It has held up very well and has gotten many complements. I have had it for almost a year, and used it for 9 camping trips. and several other trips carrying stuff, and it still looks like the day I put it together. With it being a Yakima rack, there are different attachments that you can add (lights, mounts for canoes, kayaks, snowboards, spare tire and a net that holds stuff down).

As far as how much it can hold, I don't know officially, but with all 6 of our bikes and 2 water containers (40lbs each when full), it holds great. I have even had to climb on it to get a strap that was tangled and I am 190lbs and it held fine. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't change a thing. It does everything that I was looking for it to do with ease. We used to put the bikes in the back of the bed and that took up a lot of room. I didn't want to drill into the top of out camper to put a rack, and one of those hitch mount racks I didn't like, so this was what I came up with.

Cost was:

Tonneau cover - $125 (craigslist)
Painted cover to match truck - $70
Yakima rack - $175 (craigslist)
Powdercoated rack - $25
Extra load bar - $14
-----------------------------------
So about $409. I have invested in it. I priced everything brand new and new everything would have ran around $1200, so in my case craigslist was the way to go!

Thats exactly what I wanted to know thanks... I will start going on craigs to see if I find one. But I want mine with out the 22" extension as I have a smaller bed. Do you have any pics showing how its mounted to the cover?

I actually found more without the extension, than with it on craigslist. I'm not sure I have pics of how I mounted them, but I will have to take some.
