No, no, no. The shop that put them on did not check the ball joints or tie rod that was bad. I took it in to get an alignment probably a week or so after I got the tires. I knew it needed an alignment because I had replaced the passenger side tie rod not too long before and didn't think that the other one was in need of replacement yet. I'm not mad at the shop that did the work or the one that told me what work needed to be done (Which is the shop that I took it to for an alignment). I am upset with the shop that put $800 worth of tires on without making sure there was nothing that would cause excessive wear. They can't expect everyone who walks through their doors to know what all is wrong with their vehicle. I had no idea my ball joints or the driver side tie rod were bad.

Oh ok that makes more sense. I retract my last statement! You are correct, that shop should have checked it and ultimately lost potential money and a customer by being lazy.

Yeah, I don't think I'll go back if they don't do anything more than an alignment. And I want to get my exhaust readjusted, I had planned on doing it through them, but we'll see how they handle this.

Now before I decide just how much to pursue them... I was told before I got new tires, I believe by the dealer that put them on actually, that uneven tread could mess up the four wheel drive. Is this true? How much difference would there have to be? Also, Will the tread wear eventually even out between the front two tires so that the corners are square again or, will they be more worn on the outer sides forever?

Tires that are extremely unevenly worn could wear the 4wd parts more if used on dry pavement, which shouldnt be done anyways, but i wouldnt think they would otherwise. They couldve meant not matched sizes. That will wreak havoc on a driveline very quickly. If you rotate the front to the rears they should become more even as well.
