[quote=nunchakyo;491640]Pity7700 - You gotta remember that you have a 7700 series which is pretty much an F-250 in F-150 clothes. It's a heavier truck and has heavier springs/torsion bars for towing more so your tires are gonna need more PSI than regular F150s. Most 1/2 tons like the F150 and such require a PSI of 30-40 and the bigger/heavier 3/4 or 1 ton trucks usually say 50 to even 80 PSI.

yea lol like a half hour after i posted that i was like wait...its an F250..its heavier than an f150

Brakeman - Ford reccomends the tire being inflated to the pressure they say so you can have optimal handling, ride quality, mpg, preformance and tire wear for the truck. Even if the tire says the max is 50psi you dont need it and will gain no benifiet unless your towing a heavy load.
I disagree, if what you claim is true, try this test. Find an empty parking lot and put up cones. Use some sort of dye paint like "Dykem" and paint a six inch band across your tire face. Then run a slalom through the cones at a speed as fast as comfortable with the tires at door pressure about three times. Take a photo of the painted tire face wear. Then up the tire pressure to maximum, repaint the tire, and perform the test again. Then tell me if handling improved or deteriorated, then compare photos of the painted tire face. Tell me which was worn more evenly.

I used to work for BTR Automotive rubber in the Quality lab. I've worked in automotive first tier suppliers for almost 25 years in test facilities. I used to watch tire testing being performed. (I didn't do it myself). I bet you'll be surprised.
