So i own an 03 screw fx 4x4 and I am in bad need of tires right now I have 265/70r17 and i am looking to go just a little bit bigger I am looking at 285/70r17 which is about a 33x11 or so the stock size comes out toabout 31.5x10 or so ...so I guess my question is will the 285 fit ok and also if you have any suggestions any help will be great ...I'm just trying to get the kind of wider stance i think it makes these trucks look mean... thank you in advance for all the help

 

I'm not that experienced with tire/rim size matching, but since the tires are made for 17" rims then they should mount properly. In regards to width I believe there is a certain amount that is acceptable for all rims. Just do a little research on the rims and tires, and more than likely you will find exactly what you are looking for. Just remember don't try to mount 17" tires on 17.5" rims haha.

 

285's will be about 3/4 to 1" taller.

 

the 285s will defiantly be bigger and look real nice on it. As for the wider stance , you can only acheive that with wheels that have offset.

 

285 is the width of the tire 70 would be the height from rim to the top of the tread, 75's on a 17 inch rim are right about 33inches from ground to top of the tire. Also i think 285s are about as wide as you can get without trimming.
