Default Tire help

Got a a flat today out in the woods and i needed new tires before winter any ways so i think im just gonna go get some at the beginning of next week. I have an 03 supercrew fx4 with the 17in rims. Im wondering whats the biggest tire i can run without trimming or rubbing and i dont want to crank the t-bars. Also what are some good all terrians to get im on a college budget here so the cheaper the better but i do understand you get what you pay for. I was looking at general grabber at2 or cooper discoverer st not sure on what to get though and im pretty much open to any tire that has a good tread life.
