Default Timing chains

Has anyone ever done timing chains on a 97-03 5.4L sohc? Looking for a DIY or just some insight on the fun job to come. If not I will make one when I do mine.

You didn't google very hard. Check 5.4 timing chain replacement there will be tons of info. Just make sure not to drop anything in the oil pan when you do it.

try this link for the symptoms. Sounds like you have already diagnosed it, though, so it may or may not help.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm actually more nervous now because it seems like it's always the driver side that breaks and my noise is clearly from the passenger side. Oh well I guess I will find out soon enough.
