tick/rattle
it sounds like i have a bearing failing on the serpentine belt system, but i cant track it down.
it is not a ticking sound, but it sure sounds like a bearing to me, kinda irregular, but almost constant.
the other thing is that my evap solenoid next to the intake manifold ticks when I turn the truck off, is it possible that that is making my ticking noise?
and there is no "burping" at the gas cap either
and the motor is a 4.6 with ac.

OVERTHINKER
If you were having Evap problems you would have a check engine light on. Take your serp belt off and run the engine a few seconds to see if the noise goes away. After turning the engine off and before putting the belt back on grab the tensioner and idler pulley to see if they have any play.

rattle Noise
I have a similar problem with my 5.4 I have listened to see where exactly it is coming from but I am not sure where. I know its one of the accessory drive pulleys, and when i listen close or feel near the alternator I can feel some vibrations causing the problem. I guess my question is how do I tell which pulley it is and has anyone herd of a bad alternator pulley causing rattle noises?
