Default thoughts on plasti dip

I've got 03 supercrew the charcoal with lower silver met trim. I'm trying to decide on sum paint options. I'm gonna plasti dip the grill, lower valence, emblems, running boards. I'm gonna do the wheels to but don't know if I should do them all black or black with the centers chrome? My buddy told me that he thought I should do the wheels all black an do the chrome part of the bumpers black too. Since I'm doing all the other stuff black. Also has anyone done the bed rails an back window molding in the plasti dip or what should I use for them? Like sem satin black paint or would u guys suggest???

Nothing says "I'm cheap and this is all I can do to mod" like plasti dip does.

I did some of the plastidip metallic anthracite on my mustang bullitt wheels a while back as the original paint was faded pretty bad, and they actually turned out pretty well. I liked the color so much though, I stripped it all off and painted them the same color in real paint.

Agreed. Plasti dip always looks terrible.

Don't do the running boards, plastidip will come off when you step on them.

IMO Plastidip is ok for small accent pieces but not large large areas, especially areas that take abuse like bed rails. It's not all that durable.

I plasti dipped my wheels, and it did look good for a while but if you don't keep up with it it does stay dirty even with lots of scrubbing and tire shine. Also use lots of light coats and build up a good amount of the plasti dip; otherwise it a major pain getting it off. I spent an hour or two with my pressure washer getting all the little bits off that i couldn't get with my fingers.

I recently did my grill insert. It was very faded and actually turned grey. It looks so much better now. I'll be doing the bottom part of my front bumper that is the same faded plastic soon.
