Default Third brake light

Hey guys I'm new to this site but I need some explanation on how to get to the harness for my third brake light. I have a 2003 f150 ext cab and both my cargo light plugs are melted pretty bad so I was going to order a led brake light that plugs into the harness instead of the plugs but I can't find the harness I have read that you have to take the headliner down to get to it but I'm not sure and don't want to go taking stuff apart if there is an easier way.

You don't have to take the entire headliner down, just the back half to access the pigtail.
There are some youtube vids on how to do it.
IIRC, remove the rear upper seatbelt bolts, take a few screws and panels off, carefully pop the 3? pop rivits that hold the back half in place and you should be able to get to the wire.

Unscrew the screws on the light. 2 of them. Pull it off.

There is the harness. Pretty sure you can pull enough out to unclip from there.

Melting is common. Replace your bulbs with LEDs. #194.

No you have to drop the headliner to get to the connector. Its about 6" in the cab.

Okay thanks a lot for the quick responses I'll have to try to get to it one day when I'm free and get it in there.
