Thinking about a new truck.
Im looking at a 2001 super crew 4x4 with the 4.6l v8. Are there any issues with this year that i should be worried about or anything major to look for when i go check it out?
Thank you.
Thank you.

2001 Super Crew F150 TSB for some unknown reason not all Technical Service Bulletin is shown
Only 2015 Models don't have an Issues as of now.
If you will use it to tow much better to get a Turbo Diesel that has more Low RPM torque.

No. The 3v motors are the ones with the problems although in some rare cases when put in wrong, spark plugs have blown out of the 2v's.
Sometimes gas tank straps go on them but there's a recall on them and Ford will fix them for you. No problems after that.

Check the exhaust manifold studs. Often they are broken causing an exhaust leak. It's an expensive and frustrating job, but you can use that to drop the price. Good luck with the truck, they are great vehicles.

Like mentioned before take notice of the exhaust manifolds if there are any leaks and how she sounds on a cold start. Other than that I have heard nothing but good things on the 4.6. Friend of mine had a 99 4.6 4wd supercab that he ran until 260K miles until he traded it in for a newer one. Nothing was even wrong with his 4.6 just time for an upgrade. He also owned his own lawn care business and used it for towing a fairly large trailer with all his equipment on it and it did the job just fine.
