Thanks a lot fellas. I don't plan on running down the highway like that, but it would sure be nice not to have to worry about messing with the front axle between the mud holes when im running the logging roads. If I blow out a hub ill be sure to let yall know not to try it. lol

White, that is some severe carnage right there! What engine was that on? I used evaporust straight and had no issues at all.

Straight evaporust. It says if your using it on large items to soak paper towels and wrap it.... instead of submerging but idk I'd probably just buy more and submerge it lol. Pretty sure you can buy it in 5gal containers...

Next round of bolts I might try a 50/50 solution just for comparison sake. I'm curious at what dilution does it lose its 12hr effectiveness.

Need an unbiased opinion, I have to do the front end and while I was replacing one tire I noticed some frame rot.
Spoiler

Spoiler

Is it worth having a friend use a plasma torch to remove the frame rot and weld in a new section? All the truck is going to be used for at this point is off road and hauling stuff to work on the house. Or am I better off just writing it off as a loss? The rest of the frame seems solid and it's the bottom 1/4 inch that is spongy.

If you've got a buddy willing to do it, then yeah go for it. Plenty of trucks look worse than that and still running.

Also what would you all suggest for undercoating it. And should I orbital sand the rest of the rust off before undercoating? There is a lot of work to do here and while I"ll never sell the truck for what I put into it I want it to last as long as possible.
