Haven't added them yet, but the reviews are excellent. I can put about 6 of those fans to work though. Yea, fan noise is a big bother, has a cringing irritation affect over here.

They run cool... have USB 3.1, SSD, use laptop DDR3 or DDR4 (depending on which model) memory. They come with a VESA mountable bracket too, and allows you to mount them on the back of the monitor.... it's pretty slick.

If you are in an executive office however, the noise will make the executive want to throw it out the window. In my experience this only applies to the I7 models, the I5 ones are fine.
Those are slick, as long as they're quiet.... Interested. Looks like the I5's a 7's are interchangeable. Could start with a 5 unless a 7 could be silenced. Neeeet, didn't think about this route yet.

BTW- Still using Office 2003 lol.
I only use Word, Excel myself.... have a lot of users that use Outlook with Gmail... which is pointless IMO. I really don't care for IMAP, so I just use Gmail direct.... I recently graduated from Office 2000 to 2016, LOL.

I haven't heard an i7 make noise, so I don't have experience there. But the i5 is pretty quiet - quieter than the Mini. If you put them behind a TV, you can also mount the bracket on the wall pretty easily. They also have a USB-C connection, which I use to run an additional monitor on some systems. The HD is SSD, so no HD noise.... so all you hear is the CPU fan... maybe the i7 has another fan in it too?

Seems like it would be a cheap way to go for power, 1 dedicated for the entertainment, another for home computer.

Yeah, I can see that happening for me.... Especially using an internal cloud. The WD MyCloud in conjunction with one or two NUC's would be a really, really great setup. There are other ways to do cloud file storage, but I like the WD setup a lot.

AK, did you get what you needed for an OS key?

BTW, have you guys used ISSD cards yet? As a test back in October, I put one of these in a machine that needs quick file access.... so far, so good!

Nope, haven't tried any of those bare circuit drives M.1/M.2, been researching some though.

That's a nice board lol

It is a very nice board. Gigabyte, MSI, and ASUS is about all I will use. I actually prefer ASUS..... but this board packs a lot of punch for the price.

I think we have pretty close to same builds, done around the same time as well. ASUS/AMD still going strong, aging well lol.
