I have been in "snow," White, and may again. 8000 ft hairpin switchbacks. Since it's you, White, I'm gonna let this one slide. Also motored past cars, slo-mo sliding into each other, brakes locked on downhill esses, on a motorcycle. I admit to wanting to park a Deuce an'a Half out front for the prissy neighbors. Those is our company had a roadrunner on them and did about 120 on the Autoban. But I'd use it's carrying capacity too, for mushroom compost.

Damn.... missed Paul when he was out my way too. He went to Elevated.

EDIT: Every day I also pass the business in Lakepoint that he got the airplane tow rig. Gumby is right across the highway from that place.

Not this past winter, I had to go all the way to West Virginia to find snow.

And when it does snow, we just stay home a couple of days.

On road, 4WD is needless here. Off road, you need it for the constant, slick as ellshi t mud.
Still, most pickups are sold with 4wd even if they never get off the tarmac.

Personally, my truck gets used to haul $4IT or drive in $4!T. That's it's purpose in life, for me. It was my daily for a while, and is still up to that task. But it doesn't make sense to get 14-15mpg when I can get 35mpg.

Same. Mine started as an "all-purpose outdoor adventure vehicle" but is now basically "the world's dumbest DD".

Yeah, under 5 miles I borrow her Civic, so I try to make errands 6 miles. 😉 MPG aside, it doesn't warm up enough in 5 miles... Not a good practice to run cold often due to
short errands. At one time I got 16 mpg @~65 w 16's. Have 17's now. Hope to retest this summer after new tires.

If gas goes back down to $1.XX per gallon again, I'd drive it more. Gonna have to drop this turd we've got running the show though.

My commute is <5mi, now, so its tough to justify making a change after all the work I put into the old girl. I can drive for weeks on 3/4 of a tank, so who cares?

My commute is 70 miles round trip. So the Toyota is 2 gallons per day. The F150 would be just under 5 gallons per day. Currently $7.78 per day vs. $19ish.
