i can tell you for a fact sitting is not good for a vehicle. I had to put close to 2500 in the ranger after i got it from my grandfather because it sat so much
be a cold day in hell before i tell him that though
What parts of the truck failed that went for repairs in that $2500 ?
Yes,
Parts of the state sell E0 and I get ~24 MPG on the 2020.
When I fill at the "E10" places that can temporarily sell E15 as E10, I get ~23 MPG.
I don't drive the 97 enough to do the math.
Sheetz here hasn't changed their price yet, said they would, haven't yet.
I wouldn't use anything over E10 on that truck, and that is if there's no E0 around....
And if you have to use E0 make sure you burn it all in 3 months.

all 4 shocks were shot, brake hoses were extremely stiff, wheel cylinders were leaking, calipers were starting to get kinda sticky, rad hoses were stiff, belt tensioner and idler were squeaky, original serp belt, original fuel filter, (did those myself)
that was about 1G in parts
tires were dry rotted, spark plugs were due to be replaced and plug wires were stiff (had work do them)
about another grand there
and getting ready to drop another 500 on it to get the rear window replaced/resealed
this winter its clutch time in it starting to get a slight chatter occasionally, not sure if im going to do that or have work do that, but one thing for sure the fiance will learn to drive clutch before i put the new clutch in
I am leaning towards having work do it that way i get the full 2 year P&L warranty and not just part only. Especially with that stupid internal slave cylinder
If the truck sits indoors, i.e. garage... would the shocks still go bad ?
Would 8 months of no movement destroy shocks on any vehicle ?
Spark plugs are one of the few equipment that don't deteriorate much with vehicle storage, I noticed.
If they were in good shape before storage, they'll be ok on start up.

well the shocks were the original ones from 1998. 24 years and 57K miles on our lovely roads here kill shocks. 5.5 years ago it had to have all 4 ball joints replaced due to failing state inspection. Only 1 technically failed but the boots were torn on the other 3 and my grandpa said just replace all of them. Next year he got the timing belt done.
don't know. I've used Lucas's products for years. In fact i still have a gallon jug in my garage. Works wonderful as a lead substitute(T-bird needed it). I've always dumped some in the other vehicles and even the lawnmower occasionally. If its designed to be mixed with fuel i don't pay it any second thought
Cleaning an old dirty fuel system, I've used Berryman B12 in the open top can. I can into the fuel system will completely clean everything and not have an effect on the cat's.
BG 44K is also a very good carbon blaster
